8xray App

01 / Overview
The 8xray app is a Kotlin Multiplatform application built with Jetpack Compose, running natively on Android, iOS, and Desktop from a single shared codebase. It communicates with X-ray hardware through native DLL and SO libraries, giving direct access to device controls, real-time image acquisition, and calibration routines at the hardware level. The app pulls DICOM studies, lets doctors label findings, draw regions of interest, measure angles and distances, and fine-tune contrast and window or level using an OpenCV-powered toolkit. Everything follows an offline-first model: studies, edits, and notes are stored locally and synced back to the backend when a connection is available, so rounds and consultations are never interrupted by network conditions.
